What do I have to say that could be of any possible interest to the rest of the world? Well, I think I have had an unsually wonderful life, with a hilarious and loving family and intelligent, funny, and loyal friends! It started in North Dakota, where I lived for the first 18 chilly years of my life, and ended up, thankfully, in California. Absolutely no offense intended for North Dakota, which is populated, however sparsely, with exceptionally warm and wonderful people. For me, however, California is a paradise, with truly the most wonderful weather and no end to the things to do and see. To offer evidence of my belief that Midwestern people are some of the best, I even searched far and wide for the perfect mate and ended up meeting a man at UCLA who was FROM North Dakota. I have two fantastic children from my first marriage (not a North Dakota boy, I’m afraid!) and three incredibly beautiful, and that is not just my opinion, grand-daughters, all within a 10 mile radius of our home in Northridge. Does it get any better than that? Not in my opinion.
So although I think I have some great stories that are worth sharing about life in general… some extremely happy ones, and some not always happy ones — I am starting with one of the things that I absolutely owe to my midwestern roots: my LOVE of food — not only eating it, but cooking it as well. Hopefully you will enjoy not only the recipes, but the stories that are tied to them!
Bonnie, I have tasted a select few of your recipes at a summer gathering at your home and I have to say, Greg is a lucky lucky man! Lots of love went into that food!
Hi Bonnie, I felt so organized this Thanksgiving because of you. I am hoping you do a Chrismas Eve dinner suggestion. We always have a cozy casual dinner on Christmas Eve. Any suggetions?

Thanks for your comments!!! I’m so glad that some of my ideas worked for you. I will be doing several ideas for Christmas Eve in the next few days! We do a very casual dinner, buffet style, ourselves. I’ll get right on it!
